QX Dial + FAQs

What does this service allows you to do ?

This service allows you to Call International and UK Fixed and Mobiles Destinations using units converted from your bundled free minutes such as Orange ED50 or off-peak tariff from BT Together. This service will greatly increase the value of your bundled minutes as any unused minutes can be converted and stored as QX Dial+ credit and used it at any time you want. Each mobile minutes 'stored' to our system gives you 1 QX Dial+ credit. Please refer to the rate table for the number of credit required for each destinations.

For some destinations, the money we received when you call our number is sufficient to cover the money we need to pay domestic/oversea telephone company to complete the call, those destinations are destinations that are marked as 0 units which means you do not need to store first before you can make call.  For other destinations, e.g. Mauritius, we will not have received sufficient money per minute of the call to pay the terminating company.  In such cases, we allow you to 'store', by dialing into a computer voice respond system, and by accumulating the revenue we received, allow you to make calls to all destinations in the world according to certain ratios (e.g. 3 minutes store for 1 minute of call to Mauritius via 01635 access number). The calling credit you accumulated is called QXDIAL+ unit (or points if you would like).

We do not charge you directly, you are charged by your  telephone company in the normal way for dialling the relevant type of number. For example, Orange Everyday 50  allows inclusive minutes call to 0870 numbers. You make 30 minutes of calls to 0870 437 0201 and then dial 0870 437 0202  to make calls to Mauritius and speak for 10 minutes. You have used up 40 minutes of your daily allowance on Orange ED50.

What number do I need to call?

It depends on your service provider. For example, BT Together, Talk Talk and Sky Talk charge 1.5p/min to call 0870 number during off-peak hours. By store minutes during Monday-Friday between 6PM-6AM, you can get 1 QXDial+ point per minute.

Some other providers offer inclusive minutes to call 087x number at anytime. In this case, it would be more economical to call 0872 number as you will get 3 QXDial+ points per minute. You can check out all the access numbers available to you here, which hopefully will give you an idea which number would be suitable one for you. How does this save me money .... ?

Take calling France Mobile from Orange Everyday 50 for example, you can 'store' your off peak minutes to the QXDial+ system. You can then call France Mobile during off peak for 3 units/min. Or, you can use our call back system, which is charged at 3 units on top or standard rate - in this case, 6 units/min during peak time.

I am certain that I still have credit (and option 202 announces it) but I cannot make call.

If you have made a lot of calls in the last 30 days, you might have hit the high usage limit. Email This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it and we will get it lifted. We reserve the right to request a copy of your phone bill if deemed necessary. The limit is very high and shouldn't affect most users. The other explanation would be something has gone wrong...tell us and we will fix it.

I have just store 100 minutes but when I try to make call, the system says I do not have sufficient credit.

Did you hang-up straight after entering 100 ?  The system only credits you for connected minutes, not what you have press. If you press 100 and hang-up after 45 minutes, you would be credited with 45 QXDial+ units.

I find it difficult to use option 201 as the system does not appeared to receive the full DTMF digits.

Some customers have reported this problem. We have tested this from BT, NTL, O2 and Vodafone but were not able to reproduce the problem. We suspect the issue is a mixture of timing (some people enter the digit before waiting for the announcement to finish), reception and handset. The good news is, with option 203, it uses a default number so that you do not have to enter it. Please email This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it to have the default number setup. Please provide the number you will be calling (storing) from and the target number.

Can I use my my free minutes with your service?

Theoretical yes if you have an unlimited landline package but it is normally not very pragmatic. 500 Peak from THREE/1000 off peak minutes from Vodafone roughly translates to 70 minutes of call to the USA/France and a lot less for more expensive destinations. You can look at more details for this service here

Orange users

Can I use my free minutes with your service ?

Same as the above if you have an unlimited landline package. If you are on older Orange plans, e.g. Everyday50, TalkXX,Everytime, you can use the service. Email us if you need specific advice.

BT Together, Talk Talk, Sky Talk users

Can I use my free minutes with your service ?

Your best option would be off-peak tariff at 1.5p/min by dialling 0870 437 0220 between Monday-Friday between 6PM-6AM. You can find out more details here
